Module 09

Catch failures before they strand a truck on the route

Haultro turns telematics and fault codes into condition-based maintenance, so you fix trucks on your schedule instead of on the side of the road. Plan PMs, track downtime, and keep every packer and roll-off rig earning.

Where Predictive maintenance fits

03 Dispatch + 04 Route is the operating context.

This page should not feel like an isolated feature sheet. It belongs to a role, a stage, a control, and an outcome in the Haultro operating spine.

The challenge

  • !Trucks break down mid-route, leaving stops unserviced and crews waiting on a tow
  • !PM intervals live in a spreadsheet or a shop whiteboard, so oil changes and DOT inspections slip past due
  • !Fault codes flash on the dash and never reach the shop until something snaps
  • !Nobody can say how much downtime each unit actually costs, so capital planning is guesswork
  • !Parts and labor history is scattered across paper work orders and the dealer's system

What it does

  • Predicts component wear from live telematics and engine fault codes before it becomes a roadside failure
  • Schedules preventive maintenance by mileage, engine hours, or calendar and flags what is coming due
  • Tracks every minute of downtime per unit and ties it back to a cause and a cost
  • Keeps a complete parts, service, and labor log for every truck and packer in the fleet
  • Surfaces uptime and reliability analytics so you know which assets to repair, retire, or replace

Inside the module

Every capability, included.

Condition-based maintenance prediction from telematics signals and OEM fault codes
Severity-ranked diagnostic trouble code (DTC) alerts pushed to the shop in real time
PM scheduling by odometer, engine hours, fuel burned, or fixed calendar interval
Automatic due and overdue flags for oil changes, brakes, hydraulics, and annual DOT inspections
Work order creation, assignment, and status tracking from open to closed
Parts inventory and consumption logging tied to each work order
Labor time and technician notes captured against every repair
Downtime clock per unit with reason codes (scheduled, breakdown, awaiting parts)
Cost-per-mile and cost-per-hour maintenance tracking by asset and by class
Service history timeline for every truck, trailer, and container
Recurring PM templates so a new truck inherits the right interval set on day one
Warranty and recall tracking so covered repairs are not paid out of pocket
Uptime and mean-time-between-failure analytics across the fleet
Maintenance reminders and escalations to managers when a unit is overdue

Built for the shop floor

From dash light to closed work order

A fault code should not be the first time the shop hears about a problem. Haultro reads the signal the moment it fires, ranks it by severity, and gives your technician the unit history, the likely cause, and the parts on hand to fix it.

Real-time fault code intake from connected telematics

Severity ranking so a derate warning outranks a low-washer-fluid code

One-tap work order from any alert, prefilled with the unit and the code

Parts and labor logged as the job closes, no double entry

Plan the spend

Know what each asset really costs

Cost per mile and per hour

See maintenance spend normalized by use, so a high-cost unit is obvious before it eats the budget.

Repair, retire, or replace

Reliability and downtime trends tell you when a truck is past its useful life.

Downtime by reason

Separate scheduled PM from breakdowns and parts delays to find the real drag on uptime.

Connected across the platform

One source of truth.

Fleet telematics

Live engine data, fault codes, and idling at a 15-second refresh feed the prediction engine so wear is caught early.

Routing & dispatch

Trucks flagged for shop time are pulled from the route plan automatically, so dispatch never assigns a stop to a unit that is down.

Asset tracking

PM intervals and service history follow the specific VIN, packer, or container, not a generic unit number.

Analytics

Downtime, cost-per-mile, and reliability roll up into fleet-wide reports for capital and replacement planning.

How it works

Adopting predictive maintenance.

01

Connect the trucks

Pull live telematics and fault codes from Samsara and other ELD and telematics providers, no new hardware required if a unit is already wired.

02

Set the rules

Define PM intervals by mileage, engine hours, or calendar, and apply templates by truck class so new units inherit them instantly.

03

Get the early warning

Condition-based prediction and severity-ranked fault alerts flag the unit before a roadside failure, with a work order ready to open.

04

Close the loop

Log parts, labor, and downtime against each job, then watch uptime and cost analytics update across the fleet.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Do I need new hardware to use predictive maintenance?

No. If your trucks already run a supported telematics or ELD device such as Samsara, Haultro reads the engine data and fault codes through that connection. The open REST API also lets you push data from other sources.

Can it schedule DOT inspections and PMs together?

Yes. You set intervals by mileage, engine hours, or calendar date, and Haultro tracks annual DOT inspections alongside oil, brake, and hydraulic services with due and overdue flags.

How does it know a part is about to fail?

Haultro combines condition-based signals from telematics with OEM fault codes and each unit's service history to flag wear patterns early. Representative fleets see roughly 40% fewer missed pickups when failures are caught before they reach the route.

Does maintenance talk to dispatch?

It does. A unit flagged for shop time is pulled from the routing and dispatch plan automatically, so a stop is never assigned to a truck that is down.

Can I track maintenance cost per truck?

Yes. Every part, labor hour, and downtime event is logged per unit, then rolled into cost-per-mile, cost-per-hour, and reliability analytics for repair, retire, or replace decisions.
